My base idea for this elaboration was to create a maze with a swapping color palette, and to have that swap be a part of solving the "puzzle" and of the narration. The story is very simple and just meant to set up the game, but I wanted to have something frame what the player is doing, and the conceit is simply that they are trapped inside this maze, and that it is supposed to be "impossible". Pressing "F" to swap the color palette is supposed to be something sneaky that the wizard doesn't want them to do.
I think I did well with the visual elaboration upon the original narrative game. I also wanted the mechanics to include slightly more interaction with the environment, and I think I was able to accomplish that. I wish that I could figure out how to fix the blurriness of the game window, and that I had time for better walking animations.
